SAXOPHONIST ANGELO BORG WINS THE 8TH EDITION OF THE YOUNG MUSICIANS CONTEST
Saxophonist Angelo Borg won the 8th Edition of the Young Musicians Contest organised by the Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
The finals of the competition were held at the Casino maltese, Valletta. Angelo will now benefit from a fortnight's scholarship at the London College of Music at Thames University, London. Angelo performed Light of Sothis (Amy Quate) accompanied on the piano by Marco Rivoltini. Reno Cassar (trumpet) and Marita Cassar (clarinet) finished 2nd and 3rd respectivly in the Mature Category.
Laura Cioffi (flute) won the Promising Category with Clara Galea (flute) and William Smith (classical guitar) finishing 2nd and 3rd respectivly.
Jessica de Battista, Vice President of the Society, presneted certificates to all 12 finalist, the prizes and trophy to the winners. The Contest was sponsored by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and the London College of Music of Thames University, London. Click Here to Download file/s
